Unfortunately I haven’t had the privilege to witness a live performance of this project, as judging by the
cd, it must have been great. I really like this album- in fact it’s my personal favourite Zita Swoon album to date. The assistance of Klaas Janzoons and Piet Jorens on this album makes for a more ‘complete’ sound, which helps the band to really make the most from this fantastic project. Perhaps the sound of this album can be described a bit as
DAAU meets Moondog Jr. Okay- that’s an extremely lame description, but it’s difficult picking out tracks and start whining about them individually, as this
cd clearly is meant to be seen as a full-length soundscore, which should be listened to as one unity. Most tracks are instrumental compositions, all very atmospheric and diverse. It’s not the most popular and well-known Zita swoon cd, but that definitely doesn’t mean it would be less interesting. Rudy's part in this album is co-mixing one single track, Giving up the hero. | |
